Howard Ferguson Arrested, 8 Injured in Suspected DUI Crash
BEVERLY HILLS, CA (June 25, 2019) – Officials arrested a driver Sunday night after an alleged DUI crash on Coldwater Canyon which injured eight people.
The Beverly Hills police said the collision occurred at around 9:45 p.m. A vehicle rear-ended a celebrity tour van driven by 57-year-old Howard Ferguson. The force of the impact subsequently pushed the van into another car.
Eight of the 11 people on board the van sustained injuries in the crash. In addition, the wrecked vehicles were left just outside the Beverly Hills Fire Department station.
Officers who responded to the incident suspected that Ferguson was driving while impaired. As a result, police put him through a field sobriety test. They released Ferguson after issuing him a citation. They also ordered him to appear in court on Wednesday.
In the meantime, officials said Los Angeles USA Tours is the operator of the tour van. Records from the California Highway Patrol indicated that the company was last inspected in March. Its facility and vehicle were given a satisfactory rating at that time.
