2 Dead in Concord Auto Accident near Kicker Pass Road and Hess Road

CONCORD, CA (March 9, 2025) – Saturday morning, a horrific wrong-way crash near Kicker Pass Road and Hess Road killed 2.

The incident happened at about 2:58 a.m. near Kicker Pass Road and Hess Road.

A wrong-way driver in a Honda Civic, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes near Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road, crashed head-on into a Toyota 4Runner.

Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and died from their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.

CHP said the Honda driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The crash shut down both directions of Kirker Pass Road for an on-scene investigation before reopening at 7:53 a.m.
Toxicology results are pending, but authorities suspect DUI was a factor. The incident remains under investigation.
