2 Hospitalized after Chico Auto Accident on W 8th Street and Ivy Street
CHICO, CA (April 4, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a horrific two-vehicle crash on W 8th Street and Ivy Street led to injuries.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of W 8th Street and Ivy Street. Officers confirmed that the incident involved two cars with six parties involved. Four of them came from one car and two came from the other.
The Chico Police Department confirmed that the incident happened because a driver didn’t check their blind spot.
As a result, one of the cars crashed into a telephone pole. Also, the incident led to minor injuries. Meanwhile, responders transported two people to the hospital out of precaution.
Caltrans shut down the intersection and directed traffic away from the accident.
Then, both cars were towed away about an hour after the crash.
At about 6:00 p.m., AT&T came to the scene to take the damaged telephone pole from the area.
Eventually, Caltrans reopened the intersection shortly after AT&T was finished.
Chico Police Department clarified that no one was under the influence during the collision.
