1 Person Dead in Dayton Auto Accident on Route B near Rush Road

DAYTON, MO (December 9, 2024) – Sunday night, a horrific single-vehicle crash on Route B near Rush Road killed one person.

The incident happened on Route B near Rush Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 KIA K900 crossed the center line for still unknown reasons and crashed off the opposite side of the road. Then, the force of the crash ejected two occupants of the vehicle into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 18-year-old passenger of the vehicle who was ejected, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics airlifted the 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle who was also ejected, to Children’s Mercy Hospital in critical condition. Also, a third occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
