2 People Dead in Ontario Auto Accident near Grove Avenue and Philadelphia Street

ONTARIO, CA (May 7, 2024) – Sunday morning, a horrific police chase crash near Grove Avenue and Philadelphia Street killed two people.

The incident started at around 10:30 a.m. when officers received a report about a man attempting to enter a residence on West Maple Street.

According to the Ontario Police, authorities attempted to arrest the suspect but the man fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Then, the suspect crashed near Grove Avenue and Philadelphia Street and caused a multi-vehicle accident. Also, officers confirmed that the suspect attempted to carjack another vehicle after the crash but was shot by authorities.

Moreover, responders transported the suspect to a hospital but was later pronounced dead. Also, paramedics transported two motorists who were injured in the crash, and one of them succumbed to injuries.

Furthermore, authorities said that the suspect was armed with a handgun.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Ontario Police continued to investigate the crash.
