ESCONDIDO, CA (May 9, 2023) – Sunday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on West Valley Parkway and Ninth Avenue killed 1 person.

Reports revealed that the incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. on West Valley Parkway at Ninth Avenue.

According to Lt. Suzanne Baeder, an 2010 Mazda CX9 struck a 32-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.

Moreover, responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim, but to no avail. Then, responders rushed the man to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
