Horrific Pedestrian Crash on Mettler Road Kills Woman [Lodi, CA]

Lodi, CA (January 4, 2025) On Thursday evening, a woman was killed, while another was seriously hurt in a violent pedestrian crash on Mettler Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Lodi pedestrian crash happened at about 5:30 p.m.

Reports say that a female pedestrian died, and another suffered major injuries after a pickup truck struck them.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene on Mettler Road, west of Ham Lane, around 5:30 p.m. CHP reported that the two women were walking along Mettler Road when the pickup truck hit them.

The driver told authorities he did not see the pedestrians until they were directly in front of his vehicle. The impact threw one woman onto the north shoulder and the other onto the asphalt roadway.

The driver stopped to assist the woman in the roadway, but she was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:49 p.m. The second woman was transported to the hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.
