GARDENA, CA (May 10, 2023) – Sunday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on El Segundo Boulevard and Normandie Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at 10:23 p.m. on El Segundo Boulevard, just west of Normandie Avenue.

According to a witness, after a vehicle struck a male pedestrian, the pedestrian got trapped under the vehicle.

Thus, responders immediately transported the patient to a hospital via ambulance. However, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, said CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
