WILMINGTON, CA (August 1, 2024) – Wednesday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on 110 Freeway near Anaheim Street killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at around 9:14 p.m. on the northbound 110 Freeway near the Anaheim Street exit.

Authorities reported that a white hatchback hit a pedestrian who was walking in one of the freeway’s middle lanes, according to CHP Officer A. De La Rosa. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity, including name, age, and gender, has not been released.

A SigAlert was issued, closing four lanes of the northbound freeway and the Anaheim Street exit for several hours as the CHP conducted their investigation.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
