1 Person Dead in Oceanside Motorcycle Accident on Coast Highway near West Street

OCEANSIDE, CA (September 30, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a horrific motorcycle crash on Coast Highway near West Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:53 p.m. on Coast Highway near West Street.

According to the Oceanside Police Department, a motorcyclist rear-ended another motorcycle that slowed down for a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway. Then, the force of the crash ejected both motorcyclists into oncoming traffic. Also, one of the motorcyclists was struck by a southbound Toyota Yaris, while the other motorcyclist collided with another vehicle.

Moreover, responders rushed the motorcyclist who was struck by the Toyota, to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Then, paramedics treated the other motorcyclist at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
