1 Dead in Austin Motorized Bicycle Crash on S Pleasant Valley Bridge

AUSTIN, TX (April 16, 2025) – Tuesday night, a horrific moped accident on S Pleasant Valley Bridge killed 1 person.

The incident involving a moped and a vehicle happened at about 6:10 p.m. on S Pleasant Valley Bridge over Lady Bird Lake.

The moped rider was removed from underneath the car, but they were unconscious.

Shortly later, ATCEMS said one person was pronounced dead.

Austin police said Pleasant Valley Road was closed in both directions between Canterbury St. and S. Lakeshore Blvd. It reopened several hours later.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
