Horrific Head-On Crash Near Highway 180 Claims a Life [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (November 23, 2024) On Friday evening, a horrific head-on crash near Highway 180 claimed the life of a person and sent 2 teens to the hospital.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. near Highway 180 and Grantland Avenue.

Reports say that a suspected DUI collision in Fresno County left one person dead and two teenagers injured on Friday evening.

Authorities say a pickup truck traveling westbound on Highway 180 crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and collided head-on with an eastbound Kia Optima. The Kia’s driver died at the scene before emergency responders arrived, while two 14-year-olds in the car were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The identity of the deceased victim has not been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
