SAN JOSE, CA (August 5, 2024) – Saturday night, a horrific DUI crash on Palm Avenue and Monterey Road killed one person.

The incident happened on Palm Avenue and Monterey Road.

According to the San Jose Police Department, a vehicle struck two San Jose Police Department officers who were conducting a traffic stop in the area.

Authorities confirmed that one of the officers died in the crash. Then, paramedics rushed the other officer to a hospital with major injuries.

Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for driving under the influence.
