17-Year-Old Pedestrian on E-Scooter Killed in Suspected DUI Collision on Sunshadow Avenue
Henderson, NV (June 24, 2023) On Friday morning, a 17-year-old girl on an electric scooter died after a DUI crash on Pecos Road.
According to the Henderson Police Department (HPD), the suspected DUI collision happened at about 10:27 a.m. at the intersection with Sunshadow Avenue.
Reports say that the driver of a 2019 white U-Haul truck turning south onto Pecos Road failed to see the young woman on an electric scooter northbound on Pecos Road.
The truck went in front of the girl, and the female pedestrian then slid underneath the truck afterward.
Medics transported the girl to Sunrise Trauma in critical condition, however, the girl succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital.
Police says that they suspect impairment may have played a part in the suspected DUI collision.
