Unidentified Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Hubbard Street in Slymar

 
Sylmar, CA (May 11, 2020) – Friday evening, a homeless woman was killed after she was struck by two separate vehicles on Foothill Freeway.
 
The accident took place around 9:10 p.m., on May 8. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was in her 30s, and was seen walking across the eastbound lanes of Foothill Freeway.
 
There, she was struck by a vehicle in the No. 2 lane. Shortly after, another vehicle struck her again. Due to the impact of the collisions, CHP later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. However, her identity has not been released.
 
Furthermore, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Foothill Freeway were closed off for a brief time during the investigation. However, the lanes reopened by 1:00 a.m.
 
At this time, CHP has ruled out DUI as a factor to the pedestrian crash on Hubbard Street. In addition, the identities of the drivers have not been given.
