Huntington Beach police say that the auto-pedestrian accident happened near Stark Avenue at about 11:24 p.m.

Reports say that rescuers found a man on the roadway suffering serious injuries after a vehicle hit the man. Rescuers transported the man to a hospital for immediate treatment.

Officials say that the man was walking across Beach Boulevard when a northbound vehicle struck him. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping and rendering aid to the fallen man.
