Brutal Hit-and-Run Crash on 59th Avenue Results in Fatality [Phoenix, AZ]

(September 11, 2023) On Saturday evening, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 59th Avenue.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the hit-and-run collision happened around 11 p.m. at the intersection with Camelback Road.

Reports say that a man on a pickup truck ran a red light, fatally struck a pedestrian, collided with a westbound car, hit a bus stop and the driver fled the scene on foot.

Medics say that the pedestrian was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, however, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and died at the hospital. Meanwhile, the female driver of the struck vehicle suffered minor injuries and was not transported.

Authorities are searching for the suspect driver who remains at large.
