Seattle, WA (April 29, 2025) – A 49-year-old man was hurt after a frightening hit-and-run crash on 1st Avenue South early Monday morning.

According to authorities, the shocking incident happened in downtown Seattle around 2:15 a.m. in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South near Occidental Square.

Reports say that a vehicle struck the 49-year-old man riding a scooter, critically injuring him.

Authorities say that the driver fled the scene without stopping to help or contacting emergency services.

Responding Seattle police officers found the victim in the street with a serious head injury and provided aid until Seattle Fire Department crews arrived.

Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
