Highway Worker Transported in Highway 101 Vehicle Crash [Ventura, CA]

Ventura, CA (May 5, 2025) – A highway worker was transported following a Highway 101 vehicle crash Friday.

Investigators said a 21-year-old Oxnard man in a blue Toyota struck the construction vehicle, which then struck two maintenance workers standing outside the vehicle.

Officers said the workers are subcontractors for the Caltrans doing necessary road maintenance.

The Toyota driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center.

Moreover, one of the highway workers, who is from Bell, incurred moderate injuries and was rushed to VCMC. The other highway worker, from Artesia, sustained minor injuries.

Investigators determined alcohol as a factor in the collision.
