Driver Faces Charges Following Houston Deadly Crash
Houston, TX (April 14, 2025) – 37-year-old Ashley Nelson sustained fatal injuries following a hit-and-run crash on Highway 6 early Sunday morning.
The fatal bicycle crash happened around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection with Empanada Drive.
At the same time, a red sedan driven by 28-year-old Shantia Howard was traveling north on the same road.
According to investigators, Ashley Nelson failed to yield right of way to the sedan while crossing all lanes of traffic. They also said she was not in a cross walk when the red sedan struck her
The sedan’s driver did not stop to render aid.
Unfortunately, Ashley Nelson, was killed in the collision.
Moreover, the authorities located Shantia Howard and vehicle were later Sunday morning. She was charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
