Highway 371 Fatal Crash Kills One Injured Three [Anza, CA]

Anza, CA ( 2022) On Friday, a Highway 371 fatal crash killed one person and injured 3 people, 2 were very young children.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that around 1:30 p.m. a vehicle fell off a hillside along Highway 371 near Burnt Valley Road.

Moreover, the CHP says that the vehicle was reportedly out of control then steered into the shoulder of the two-lane corridor.

Then, the vehicle rolled off 100 feet down the hillside before coming to a stop on its roof.

The Riverside County Fire Department (RCFD) was on the scene within 15 minutes and began life-saving measures on the victim with grave injuries.

Reports say that one of the adults sustained serious injuries, while the other had minor to moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, a 6-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl both had minor to moderate injuries as well.

Despite the rescuer’s efforts, the party with the serious injury was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both minors were transported to a Temecula-area trauma center via ground ambulances.

Though fire engines were obstructing one side, the highway was still open with CHP officers directing traffic around them.

The CHP is still conducting an investigation into the fatal crash.
