2 People Hurt in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101
Ukiah, CA (August 15, 2022) On Sunday morning, a crash between a service truck and a big rig on Highway 101 resulted in 2 patients getting hospitalized.
According to the CHP, the 2-vehicle crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on Highway 101 between Ukiah and Hopland. Reports say that a 3rd vehicle struck a bridge near the scene of the crash.
Moreover, the crash completely blocked Highway 101 south of the Retech Business complex. rescuers requested Caltrans for assistance due to the heavy traffic buildup caused by the collision.
Paramedics transported 2 people to Ukiah Valley Adventist Health Hospital.
Authorities say that the big rig lost four of its five axels due to the crash. Caltrans says that heavy equipment is needed for the clearing of the wreck.
The collision closes the highway for over 3 hours. CHP says that the crash is classified as a major injury collision.
