High-Speed Crash on Interstate 80 Led to Injuries [Vacaville, CA]

Vacaville, CA (May 21, 2025) – A frightening high-speed crash on Interstate 80 left a victim hurt and hospitalized.

According to authorities, the shocking incident happened at around 8 p.m. from Interstate 80 onto Peabody Road near Cliffside Drive.

Reports say that two drivers engaged in street racing caused a crash in Vacaville, resulting in injuries to an uninvolved motorist.

Authorities say that a black Mustang and a silver Corvette raced down the off-ramp.

Officials say that the Mustang driver lost control and crashed into both the Corvette and another vehicle, scattering debris and causing significant damage.

Investigators determined the Mustang and Corvette had been racing on eastbound I-80 before the collision. Police arrested the 22-year-old Mustang driver and booked him into Solano County Jail on charges related to reckless driving and illegal street racing. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Officers are still gathering information about the Corvette and its driver.
