Six People Hospitalized after Possible DUi Collision near Laughlin Road; Eric Floyd Arrested
WINDSOR, CA (April 16, 2018) – At least six people were injured in a four-car collision on River Road, just west of Fulton on Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol received several calls reported a reckless driver on River near Laughlin Road, in a maroon Saturn. The Saturn, driven by 47-year-old Eric Floyd of Clearlake, swerved into the westbound lane and crashed into a Ford F-450 truck driven by 50-year-old Jeffrey Rogers of Napa.
Both vehicles then crashed into an eastbound Toyota Corolla and a Toyota 4Runner. All four cars cames to a rest in the road, blocking the lanes in both directions.
54-year-old Hermengildo Rojas of Guerneville, the driver of the Corolla, was injured along with his three male passengers, and transported to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Floyd and his passenger, Corrie Reed, 27, sustained major injuries and were taken to the same hospital. Rogers was uninjured in the collision.
Firefights from Roncon Valley, Windsor, and Santa Rosa responded to the scene of the incident. River Rd was closed in the area of the incident for about three hours during investigation and cleanup. The wreckage was spread across the road for about 200 yards.
Authorities continue to investigate the multiple-vehicle collision. Floyd was arrested on suspicion of DUI. No other information has been released to the public at this time.
