Helen Gomez Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Smilax Road Near Highway 78

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (April 22, 2019) – A San Marcos woman died last week in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Smilax Road near Highway 78.
 
According to reports, Helen Gomez lost her life when a hit-and-run driver in a vehicle, described as a silver car, struck her.
 
The incident unfolded around 8:20 p.m. Gomez and her 14-year-old dog, Seth, were walking along Smilax Road when things took a turn for the worse.
 
The 60-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital where loved ones stayed with her by her side.
 
Unfortunately, due to the severity of her injuries, Gomez died at the hospital.
 
Now, family members and police are fiercely scouring for any help in locating the suspect’s whereabouts. Witnesses or callers are urged to leave an anonymous tip at 888-580-8477.
