25-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Car Accident Caused by Mechanical Issues near 42nd Avenue
KENT, WA (October 9, 2018) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Reith Road, early Tuesday morning. The deceased individual was later identified as 25-year-old Hassen Nur. His place of residence was not immediately disclosed. when he lost control on a curve and crashed.
Officers and medics arrived at the scene near 42nd Avenue at around 5:45 AM and found two wrecked vehicles in the roadway: a pickup truck and another car.
Nur suffered multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The driver of the pickup was sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. There is no update on his current medical condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Nur was driving northbound on Reith when a mechanical issue caused him to lose control and veer into the southbound lane. There, he was struck by the pickup truck. Drugs or alcohol were not considered to be contributing factors in the fatal accident.
Reith Rd was closed in the area of the crash site, as cleanup and investigation took place after the crash. No further details have been released to the public at this time.
