BARSTOW, CA (May 31, 2019) – Two people identified as Gilberto Garcia Perez, and Guillermo Velasquez were killed in a fiery head-on crash late Friday evening.
 
To begin, authorities responded around 10:19 PM. Dispatchers arrived near Old Highway 58 near Irwin Road shortly after.
 
According to the Barstow police, a two-vehicle head-on collision took place in the area. In addition, police described the vehicles as a sedan and a pick-up truck.
 
Furthermore, both vehicles eventually caught fire as a result of the impact. However, no other information has been released at this time.
 
All lanes were blocked while a clearing operation was conducted in the area. The California Highway Patrol is still currently investigating the incident.
