Gregory Schmitz of Napa Injured in DUI Crash on Big Ranch Road [Napa, CA]

Napa, CA (December 14, 2021) – On Sunday, 69-year-old Gregory Schmitz of Napa sustained injuries while 33-year-old Esai Jared Corro of Napa was arrested in a DUI crash on Big Ranch Road.

The accident happened at about 8:42 p.m. at the intersection with El Centro Avenue.

Apparently, the Toyota Prius driven by Schmitz stopped as a Chevrolet Silverado was backing out of a driveway

Then, another southbound vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee driven by Corro, rear-ended the Toyota.  As a result, the Toyota was pushed it into a ditch. It continued forward and struck the Chevrolet.

Right away, the emergency responders took Schmitz by American Medical Response ambulance to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center with as major injuries.

Meanwhile, officers also took Corro to the Queen for minor injuries. Then, they arrested Corro on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury and booked him into the Napa County jail.

Also, the 25-year-old Marysville man who was driving a Silverado sustained minor injuries in the crash. He sought his own aid.

The authorities are investigating this crash.
