LIVINGSTON, CA (May 3, 2021) – Sunday morning, Jose Nunez, 42, died in a head-on crash on Olive Avenue and Cressey Way.
 
The accident involving a Peterbilt truck hauling a utility trailer happened at about 12:44 a.m. on Olive Avenue and Cressey Way.
 
Upon the arrival of the officers, they found a Peterbilt big rig and a Honda that had caught fire.
 
The investigation revealed that a Winton man Jose Nunez drove a Honda north on Olive Avenue, south of Cressey Way at around 45 mph.
 
As the Honda drove across the solid double yellow lines, the vehicle went into the path of Gonzalo Anaya’s trailer on Olive Avenue, which travelled at 45 mph.
 
After the crash, Mr. Anaya tried to help the adult male driver out of the Honda. However, the vehicle had caught fire, said CHP Public Information Officer Zuniga.
 
Joses Nunez died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Peterbilt driver suffered no injuries and stayed at the scene. He didn’t show any signs of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
 
Moreover, Mr. Anaya has yet to report any injuries following this Livingston accident.
