GILROY, CA – Man Killed, Woman Badly Injured in Car Crash on Church Street near Second Street

Fatal Early Morning Collision on Church Street in Gilroy

 
GILROY, CA (April 7, 2019) – A man was killed and a woman was badly injured following a car accident early Sunday morning in Gilroy.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 7800 block of Church Street near Second Street.
 
The number of involved vehicles was not indicated on the initial log, but responding officers found two people with major injuries.
 
Life-saving measures were performed, but one of the victims, a 44-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office once his family in notified.
 
The 40-year-old woman was airlifted to a local trauma center in an unknown condition.
 
The Gilroy Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team and Crime Scene Investigations are conducting the investigation, which is ongoing.
