Ghassan Yaser and Devonta Banks Hospitalized in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 128 Near Chiles Pope Valley Road

NAPA COUNTY, CA (April 10, 2019) – Two motorcycle riders suffered serious injuries Monday morning following a crash on Highway 128 near Chiles Pope Valley Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 11:45 a.m. accident happened near Lake Hennessey.

Ghassan Yaser, 31, of Sacramento and 26-year-old Devonta Banks, of Pittsburg, crashed their motorcycles on eastbound Highway 128 when their bikes struck the mountain side of the road.

It appears Yaser lost control of his 2006 Suzuki and Banks lost control of his 2008 Kawasaki as both failed to negotiate a curve while riding at a high rate of speed.

According to Officer Vincent Pompliano, neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the crash.

Yaser suffered major facial injuries and was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Meanwhile, paramedics transported Banks to the same hospital with moderate injuries.

Speed can play a significant role in traffic accidents. Traveling at a high rate of speed increases our chances of road collisions and provides us less cushion when trying to avoid danger. Always operate a motor vehicle at a safe and controlled speed. This provides you more control when cornering turns.
