Deadly Afternoon Crash on Highway 101 in Geyserville

 
GEYSERVILLE, CA (March 22, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured following a three-vehicle collision Friday afternoon on Highway 101 at Geyserville Avenue on-ramp.
 
The fatal collision happened around 2:57 p.m. involving a blue Nissan Versa, a 2016 Honda Civic and a 2004 Toyota Tundra.
 
According to reports, the Nissan was traveling southbound on the highway when it lost control and crossed over the center median and into the northbound lanes.
 
Heading in the wrong direction, the Nissan collided with the Honda sedan, driven by a 62-year-old Pamela Bertoli of Cloverdale. It continued out of control and struck the front of the Toyota pickup truck, driven by Rebecca Frey, 64, of Ukiah.
 
The female driver of the Nissan, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Geyserville firefighters.
 
Frey and her passenger, a 63-year-old Karen Zimmerman, were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
 
Bertoli and her passenger, a 28-year-old Alanna Bertoli, were evaluated at the scene and released.
 
All lanes of northbound Highway 101 were closed for about three hours during the crash investigation. Traffic was diverted to the Geyserville Avenue exit. The highway was re-opened around 6:15 p.m.
