Police Arrest 23-Year-Old Gerson Perez in DUI Crash on Rumble Road

Modesto, CA (February 09, 2021) – On Sunday night, an 18-year-old man was injured while police arrested 23-year-old Gerson Perez of Modesto in a DUI crash on Rumble Road.

The traffic crash took place at about 8:30 p.m. west of Yukon Drive near the Virginia Corridor Trailway.

Perez was driving west on a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a fence. Afterward, he also struck a power pole and a crosswalk sign.

Authorities said speed also appears to be a factor in the accident.

Right away, responders took Perez and his passenger by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Then, officers booked Perez at the Stanislaus County Jail Monday morning, with bail set at $50,000.

Never drink and drive.

How To Proceed From DUI a Crash

Moreover, while driving is essential for many to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous daily activities. Thus, it is therefore important to know how to proceed in case you are involved in an accident.

Indeed, on the AAA Foundation website, chief executive officer Peter Kissinger repeatedly labeled the epidemic of motor vehicle-related accidents a “public health crisis.”

Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer. A lawyer will make sure victims are not cheated of the proper compensation they are owed.
