Weslaco, TX (December 4, 2024) On Tuesday morning, 47-year-old Gerardo Reyes Gonzalez Angeles of Donna lost his life in a tragic traffic collision on FM 1015.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal incident happened at about 6:27 a.m. on FM 1015.

Reports say that a bicyclist lost his life early Tuesday morning after being struck by a truck on FM 1015, north of Weslaco.

Authorities say that the crash occurred around 6:27 a.m. as Angeles was riding his bicycle northbound in the inside lane of FM 1015, near Ramiro Guerra Drive.

Officials say that a 2024 Ford E-450 truck, driven by a man, approached from behind and hit Angeles, throwing him off his bike onto the road. He suffered severe injuries and was transported to Knapp Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

DPS has stated that the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
