1 Dead in San Luis Obispo Auto Accident on Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (January 2, 2022) – Friday night, a fatal crash on Highway 10 and San Luisito Creek Road involved Gerardo Aldama.
 
The incident occurred at 7:22 p.m. on Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road.
 
According to reports, a man drove a Chevrolet pickup in the left turn lane of southbound Highway 1.
 
As the driver turned left, he directly went in front of Gerardo Aldama driving a Hyundai Sonata northbound on Highway 1.
 
Despite Aldama’s efforts of applying his brakes, he failed to avoid the crash. Then, Aldama’s car crashed on the right side of the Chevrolet pickup.
 
Afterward, the pickup immediately caught on fire.
 
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet driver died at the scene and Gerardo Aldama suffered no injuries.
 
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to call the San Luis Obispo CHP at (805) 594-8700.
