Phillip Ellyson and 1 Other Hospitalized after Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash near Agua Dulce Canyon Road

ACTON, CA (September 30, 2018) – A man was killed early Sunday morning and two others were hospitalized following a wrong-way crash on the 14 Freeway. The victim was later identified as 28-year-old George Bravo of Los Angeles.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly before 5:00 AM near Agua Dulce Canyon Road. A silver Lexus sedan, driven by Bravo, was heading south in the northbound lanes of Highway 14.

There, he collided with a white Toyota pickup, driven by 51-year-old Phillip Ellyson of Canyon Country.

Bravo suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, Ellyson and his unidentified 17-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to major. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the CHP’s Newhall office by calling (661) 294-5540. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
