Elko County Vehicle Crash Injures Passenger
Elko County, NV (June 24, 2022) – On June 14, a passenger sustained injuries while the driver, 45-year-old Gennady Sarkisov of Sandy, UT, died, in Highway 93 collision.
It was about 4:30 a.m. when the collision took place about 7 miles south of West Wendover.
Investigators say a white northbound Suzuki Grand Vitara driven by Sarkisov crossed over the center line into the southbound lane.
The vehicle then drove off the road but Sarkisov overcorrected. As a result, the vehicle rotated back across the road and landed on its side.
The impact threw Gennady Sarkisov out of the vehicle and died at the scene.
Moreover, the paramedics rushed Sarkisov’s adult passenger to a hospital with possible serious injuries.
Officers say both Sarkisov and his passenger were not wearing a seat belt during the collision. They say that they suspect impairment as a factor in the incident.
