Interstate 182 Head-On Crash Killed 79-Year-Old Gale Easterday

 
Pasco, WA (December 11, 2020) – On Thursday, 79-year-old Gale Easterday of Mesa died in a head-on crash on Interstate 182.
 
The fatal accident took place at 3:30 p.m. near 4th Avenue in east Pasco.
 
A WSP report said Easterday was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes in his truck when he crashed with a semi-truck.
 
As a result, the semi swerved and struck a third vehicle that was also heading westbound.
 
Furthermore, authorities said the semi also went into oncoming traffic and blocked the westbound lanes.
 
Similarly, two other vehicles were struck by debris from the crash.
 
No one else was injured in the crash.
 
Authorities said relatives of Easterday were notified of his passing. Also, they mentioned that Easterday was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
 
The crash blocked all lanes of Interstate 182 for hours.
 
Meanwhile, police will investigate why Easterday began driving in the wrong direction.
