Late Evening Pedestrian Accident at North Hayes and West Shields Avenues, Major Injuries Sustained
FRESNO, CA (November 24, 2018) – A pedestrian was badly injured after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday evening in Fresno, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 11:49 p.m. at the intersection of North Hayes Avenue and West Shields Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle and was left with a broken femur and multiple injuries to the neck and face. The patient was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.
The pedestrian was possibly ejected from a vehicle that had crashed and was struck by another vehicle while lying on the roadway.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident.
