5 Vehicles Involved in Fremont Crash on 680 Freeway, Major Injuries Sustained

 
FREMONT, CA (January 9, 2019) – At least one person was seriously injured following a multi-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on southbound 680 Freeway at Highway 262 off-ramp.
 
The collision happened around 11:21 a.m. involving a big rig and four other vehicles.
 
Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but the big rig rolled over on its side as a result of the accident. One person was trapped and fire crews worked on the extrication.
 
Major injuries were sustained in the accident, and the driver of the overturned big rig was reported to have sustained a possible leg fracture.
 
Several freeway lanes were blocked due to gravel and dirt and were scattered across lanes. All traffic was being diverted into express lanes.
