14-Year-Old Freida Pineda Killed, Kevin Hernandez Arrested after DUI Accident in Turlock

 
TURLOCK, CA ( December 14, 2018) – On Friday morning, one person was killed and two others were injured in a DUI crash on Monte Vista Avenue. The deceased victim was identified as 14-year-old Freida Pineda of Turlock.
 
According to officials, the accident took place around 7:00 PM near Geer Road. First responders arrived at the scene, after receiving multiple calls about the incident.
 
As per reports, the pickup driver, 21-year-old Kevin Solis Hernandez, lost control of his vehicle which caused him to collide with a sedan and crash into a carport. Due to the impact of the accident, major damages were sustained causing Pineda to be ejected from the sedan. No other vehicles were involved.
 
First responders arrived at the scene of the incident and pronounced Pineda deceased. A GoFundMe page was set-up to help Pineda’s family with expenses.
 
Authorities stated that the driver of the sedan was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another passenger, who is a minor, suffered serious injuries but are considered non-threatening. Their current medical conditions are stable, according to police.
 
Officers stated Hernandez was under the influence and was arrested for manslaughter and DUI causing death or serious injury.
 
No further details have been released, as the investigation continues.
