Frederick Collins of Oakland Jailed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 5717 Christie Avenue [Emeryville, CA]

Emeryville, CA (February 21, 2025) – 40-year-old Frederick Collins of Oakland was arrested in a hit-and-run crash on 5717 Christie Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

The traffic accident happened around 3:40 p.m. in BevMo’s rear parking lot.

Officers said a female pedestrian was hit from behind as a speeding vehicle driven by Collins turned in from Shellmound Street.

Afterward, Collins was seen speeding back onto Shellmound Street.

The woman sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision.

Moreover, the authorities tracked down the Collin’s car. Officers said he returned to the car on Thursday around 7 a.m., and they arrested him.

Frederick Collins was booked into Santa Rita Jail with $50,000 bail.
