25-Year-Old Murrieta Man Fatally Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash near Aliso Beach Park
LAGUNA BEACH, CA (July 14, 2018) – A man was fatally injured in a DUI accident on the Pacific Coast Highway, on Saturday evening. The deceased victim was identified on Sunday by the Orange County Coroner’s Office as 25-year-old Francisco Rojas of Murrieta.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision took place on Highway 1 around 8:55 PM, near the Aliso Beach Park. The area of the incident is considered to be the “Aliso Dip,” at the southern end of the city.
Rojas sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical professionals. Events leading up the collision are still unclear at this time.
The second driver was arrested by the Laguna Police Department on suspicion of drunk driving. His identity has not yet been released to the public, and it was not stated whether or not he was injured in the crash. No additional information is available at this time as authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision.
