Francisco Deluna Killed in Interstate 15 Lake Elsinore DUI Crash

 
Lake Elsinore, CA (January 10, 2021) – On Friday, 49-year-old Francisco Deluna of Perris died in a tragic DUI crash on Interstate 15.
 
The fatal crash took place at about 11:10 p.m. near the Railroad Canyon/Diamond Road exit.
 
Deluna was traveling southbound in a 2020 Nissan Versa. He slowed down due to a traffic break ahead, and was rear-ended by a 2015 GMC Sierra pick-up truck driven by a 55-year-old Temecula man.
 
As a result, his vehicle slammed into the center divider.
 
Unfortunately, Deluna lost his life at the 15 Freeway crash scene.
 
Meanwhile, the GMC driver immediately drove away from the scene. He crossed the right shoulder in an attempt to flee.
 
However, an officer spotted the GMC with front-end damage and pulled the driver over.
 
The suspect driver did not get ijuries from the crash. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
