Francisca Monzono of Elverta Killed in Highway 70 Collision [Yuba County, CA]

Yuba County, CA (September 3, 2024) – 47-year-old Francisca Monzono of Elverta was killed in a Highway 70 collision Monday morning.

It was about 5:30 a.m. when the collision happened at the southbound McGowan off-ramp.

CHP officers said 19-year-old Alannah Eastern of Elk Grove was traveling north in a white Buick sedan on the southbound highway and collided head-on into a southbound silver Toyota. 

Francisca Monzono who was driving the Toyota was killed in the collision, while her passenger was transported to the hospital with major injuries.

Eastern and her passenger were both transported to the hospital with major injuries.

Troopers determined Eastern was under the influence of alcohol during the accident. They arrested her on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury.
