Frances Williams Killed in Vehicle Collision on FM 779 [Grand Saline, TX]

Grand Saline, TX (March 28, 2023) – At about 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, Frances Williams, 69, of Quitman, and Micayla Kolb, 17, Grand Saline High School senior student, both sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle collision on FM 779.

The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that Kolb was westbound on FM 779, about four miles outside Quitman. 

Kolb’s vehicle traveled into the oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a vehicle driven by Williams.

Unfortunately, Williams was declared dead at the scene. 

The rescuer rushed Kolb to UT Health Hospital in Quitman. The Grand Saline ISD announced on a social media post on Monday afternoon that Kolb has died.

Meanwhile, the DPS is investigating the Grand Saline vehicle collision.
