Vehicle Crash on Sherman Hoyt Avenue Hurt Four People

Twentynine Palms, CA (November 7, 2020) – On Wednesday, four people were injured in a rollover crash on Sherman Hoyt Avenue.

The crash happened at about 10:08 p.m. on Twentynine Palms Highway wherein the driver was ejected from his Toyota Tundra pickup truck and then pinned beneath it.

The sheriff’s station said the truck was traveling west on the highway with four men in it, ages 19 to 23.

Then, they approached Sherman Hoyt Avenue, and for unknown reasons, the driver lost control. The vehicle struck the dirt berm on the side of the road and flipped multiple times.

Further, two other passengers were also ejected from the vehicle and suffered significant injuries.

County firefighters from the Twentynine Palms fire station rescued the driver from underneath the truck.

Firefighters from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center also helped in the rescue.

A Mercy Air helicopter crew flew the driver to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the rescuers took the other two victims with major injuries by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Additionally, the fourth passenger was wearing his seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Rescuers took him to Hi-Desert Medical Center for a check.

Furthermore, the sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash.
