One Dead and Two Injured in Accident on Intersection of E Bidwell St and Blue Ravine Rd
FOLSOM, CA (March 21, 2018) – A two-car collision ended in a fiery scene on the intersection of East Bidwell Street and Blue Ravine Road, late Wednesday morning.
A black Porsche sedan was speeding westbound on Blue Ravine around 11:46 AM, when it lost control and struck a white truck that was traveling eastbound on the other side of the road. Sgt Andrew Bates with the Folsom Police Department said that unsafe speed was the cause of the collision.
Witnesses heard an explosion as the Porsche caught fiPassersbyding to reports. Passerbys tried to save the man inside the fiery car, but were unable to reach him. The man died in the fire, and two other people were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The roads were closed between Riley and E Bidwell, until 3 PM, while authorities investigated the scene of the fatal crash.
