73-Year-Old Floyd Custodia Dead after Hollister Car Accident on Highway 25

HOLLISTER, CA (August 14, 2019) – A man identified as Floyd Custodia died in a car crash at a Highway 25 intersection on Saturday, August 10.

The fatal accident happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 25 and South Ridgemark Drive, south of Hollister.

73-year-old Floyd Custodia, of Hollister, drove a yellow 1972 Volkswagen Beetle. He had stopped at the stop sign as he left the Ridgemark Golf Club neighborhood. When he pulled out to make a left turn onto the highway, a southbound 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 T-boned his vehicle. The Ram did not have a stop sign.

Custodia was the sole occupant of the Volkswagen. Emergency responders airlifted him to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister, where he died.

The three occupants of the Ram were not hurt. They were a 45-year-old male driver, a 41-year-old woman, and an infant girl. All of them were residents of Paicines.

We’d like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends Floyd Custodia. This is no easy time for anyone, and we hope you all find comfort and strength around you.
