ENCINAL, TX (January 19, 2023) – Tuesday morning, five people sustained injuries following an auto accident on Texas Highway 44 and Interstate 35.
 
The incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on Texas Highway 44 and Interstate 35.
 
According to the Encinal Police Department, a westbound vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed. Then, it lost control and collided with two unoccupied parked vehicles. Then, the force of the crash pushed the vehicle airborne.
 
Afterward, it rolled over into a parking lot where it finally came to rest. Also, multiple occupants of the vehicle were ejected into the roadway during the incident.
 
Moreover, paramedics transported two male victims to Laredo Hospital in stable condition. Also, responders airlifted three more victims to San Antonio Hospital in critical condition.
 
Furthermore, officers arrested the 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle for multiple felony charges.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under active investigation.
